5 Issues to Believe Sooner than Purchasing Mattress Sheets

It’s easy to imagine an ideal bed and Bedsheets? Click here for the ideal bedsheets that are breathable, luxuriously soft, naturally textured, tucked in neatly (not too loose, not restrictively tight), and have ample sizing to surround your guests comfortably night after night.

Hoteliers browse to conduct some research and end up falling down a rabbit hole as there are far too many choices to be made. There’s a lot of industry jargon, a lot of foreign textiles, and a lot of unsupported claims that don’t seem realistic.

Being a manufacturer and distributor of textiles for over 20 years in the hospitality industry, we’re here to assist you. We’ll help you understand the material, weave, treatment, ply, and more in the only honest, transparent way we know.

According to a study regarding the relevance of bed linen and towels to hotel guests, 99 percent of respondents believe that offering high-quality bed linen is critical. These data demonstrate the significant influence that high-quality bed linen may have on your property’s bottom line and customer retention.

When it comes to hospitality sheeting, the most important factor is durability. Since hotel linens are cleaned up to 300 times per year, they’re designed to last at least a year before shredding or tearing. It could take you 10-15 years to achieve that 300 counts, depending on how often you wash your linens.

With this in mind, hotel linens are designed to reduce the number of times they need to be washed. Using different fabrics and weaves to encourage greater cooling is one approach to achieve this. Most hoteliers use a lot of commercial fabric softeners to make the fabric feel as soft as possible to satisfy the desire for softness.

Hospitality sheets are nearly always made of a combination of textiles, the most popular of which is cotton/polyester. Small pockets are produced by twisting cotton strands with polyester, allowing the sheet to breathe easier.

Thread Count

The thread count is obviously the second most important factor. Customers at stores have been taught that a high thread count is the only way to go. Thread counts of 600 or 800 are used in “luxury” retail sheets but hotel sheets typically have a thread count of 250. However, sheets with a thread count of 300 are used in high-end hotels. How come hotel sheets are still softer despite these figures? Because thread counts of 600 or 800 are only a marketing gimmick.

Weave Type

The number of threads in each square inch of cloth was once thought to be the most important sign of consistency, but we now know better. The overall quality of a board is influenced by factors such as yarn fiber, scale, finishing, and spinning. Various forms of weaves have been clarified below.

  • Soft and smooth weaving is defined as weaving with a minimum thread count of 150.
  • Satin weave is smooth and silky, yet it isn’t particularly tough.
  • Because the twill weave is a little thicker, there’s less of a chance of wrinkles.
  • Jacquard and Damask woven bed linens have a high level of detail and are considered a luxury option.
  • Hemp bed linens and materials are made from organic hemp.

Bed sheets can be woven in a variety of ways, which is not visible to the human eye. According to Real Basic, the weave shape affects the sheet’s softness, look, durability, and pricing. During the night, percale bedsheets are lighter, crisper, and cooler. However, many hoteliers choose sateen because of its silky texture.

Choose your bed sheet based on the size of your hotel bed: single, double, queen, or king. Measure the width of your mattress and add 2 inches on each side, as you’ll need the suitable fabric to place it in. If you’re buying cotton bed linens, go for the bigger size because it shrinks over time.

If you’re not satisfied, examine your options before adding to the cart. Some of the beds have unusual dimensions, such as little single beds or European double beds, so getting the proper size is important.

Make sure to consider the width of your mattress as well to determine whether you have an exceptionally deep mattress or a mattress topper.
